General Manager of Enviro-Solutions, a manufacturer of
certified-Green cleaning products.
The Jan/San Reality TV
Show
Although its popularity may be
waning just a bit, "reality TV" has taken the television
industry by storm. Viewers seem to love these shows, watching
people jump off cliffs, eat cockroaches, or wait to hear who
is told first, "you're fired."

Results from last month's survey:
According to last month's survey, price
increases continue to challenge the profit margins of distributors.
While staying away from selling overseas, the majority feel that
manufacturers are trying to sell direct to your customers. Here are
the complete results:
|
1. My profit margins are shrinking mainly
because of price increases that I have to absorb:
2. I can't compete on price because the
"local" competition now has the buying power of a master
distributor or a retail big box store:
3. Competition and other industry trends are
forcing me to become more diversified in terms of product
lines and markets served:
4. I am satisfied with my staff's level of
industry knowledge:
|
5. I can no longer compete with customer
service alone:
6. I feel that some of my manufacturer
partners try or do sell direct:
7. Selling overseas is a good strategy to
expand my business:
8. I believe that I am in control of my
business' long-term success and feel only minor changes should
be made within this industry's supply chain:

As the
janitorial and sanitation industry continues to shrink, many of
today's leading manufacturers are proactively seeking new ways to
gain brand recognition at the consumer level by earmarking
advertising dollars to reach end customers. Campus Facility
Maintenance (owned by Cygnus Business Media) is the ONLY end-user
publication solely covering the cleaning and maintenance concerns of
more than 17,000 facility directors/planners and operations managers
in today's colleges, universities, vocational and trade schools and
data processing centers.
