Peterborough, Canada - Nov 23, 2005 - Enviro-Solutions, a leading manufacturer of Green Cleaning chemicals, has recently won the contract to supply Green Cleaning chemicals—general cleaning, floor carpet, washroom, and odor control—to McGill University Health Center (MUHC), a group of five hospitals representing 1,650 beds in Montreal, Canada.

Under the contract, Enviro-Solutions, along with Larose, a leading jansan distributor based in Montreal and Quebec City, Canada, will supply all the health center’s Green Cleaning chemicals for three years. The contract has an option to extend it for an additional two-years.

The health center was sure it wanted to switch to Green Cleaning, which incorporates products, chemicals, and services that have a reduced effect on human health and the environment when compared with their more traditional counterparts. Still, getting the contract, according to a Larose spokesperson, was not easy, considering the strong competition from several vendors, including an incumbent distributor with its own Green offerings.

So how did Enviro-Solutions emerge victorious?

“In a word: experience,” says Mike Sawchuk, the company’s vice president and general manager. “Enviro-Solutions has been manufacturing only Green Cleaning chemicals for more than 10 years. We have learned much in this time and, along with our distributors, are now better able to help transfer end customers from traditional to Green Cleaning.”

MUHC also indicated that they liked the fact that Enviro-Solutions offers a complete line of Green Cleaning products, including floor, carpet, hand soap, washroom, and general-purpose cleaners.

Healthy Trend

Increasingly, distributors report that Green Cleaning products and services are being required in contracts and bids for healthcare settings as well as government, educational, commercial, and other institutions and facilities throughout North America. Sawchuk is not surprised “Although they have served us well for many years, new technologies allow us to produce safer, more environmentally preferable cleaning products” Sawchuk says. “Replacing traditional cleaning chemicals with products that are also as efficient and cost-effective, just makes good health—and business—sense.”
